Kia Medium Tactical Vehicle
The Kia Medium Tactical Vehicle (KMTV), developed through five years of dedicated R&D, marks a significant advancement in modern military logistics. Designed for rapid deployment and efficient supply in 21st-century combat, it offers high-performance power, advanced safety, and spacious cargo capacity on a military-grade chassis. With exceptional off-road mobility and survivability, the KMTV adapts to diverse operational needs, reinforcing Kia’s commitment to enhancing military technology and readiness.
KMTV Development Concept
KMTV is a next-generation tactical vehicle at the global level, which was developed by applying the military requirement specifications and optimized specifications for its use, that will replace the deteriorated current 2½ton and 5ton vehicles. AWD feature (4X4, 6X6) with an additional AWS system (All Wheel Steering) to improve the turning mobility in harsh and narrow combat situations and a vehicle height controlling device are additionally installed to improve the convenience when getting on/off the vehicle and loading/unloading cargos. KMTV is available in the new 2½ton Cargo Truck (4X4) and new 5ton Cargo Truck (6X6), which are optimized for troop/supply transport through increased field load weight and twice the paved road loading capacity than the current models, as well as the 5ton Bulletproof Truck (6X6) with detachable bulletproof material for the vehicle body and structure that allows easy weapon installation.
CutAdvanced Performance Dynamics
KMTV is equipped with maximum 380hp of cutting-edge engine, 8-speed automatic transmission, and power line on axle, and this optimum combination offers fast and powerful driving performance and the best climbing performance on mountain terrains and streams.

Resilient performance in tough terrains
With the top-class driving performance and durability, KMTV can conduct operations with maximum 22 passengers and 5 tons of load (in the field) on steep mountain slopes, narrow mountainous paths, and while fording. By demonstrating prompt mobility and outstanding transport ability on all types of terrains in the world and under any operational conditions, it offers the perfect solutions of medium tactical vehicles that the military requires.
Harsh Performance Test
Kia validates military vehicle specifications through comprehensive performance testing, employing state-certified facilities and expert personnel. Utilizing advanced equipment and simulated combat-like conditions, Kia assesses critical parameters including mobility, durability, and operational performance to ensure exceptional quality and reliability.

Unstoppable Mobility
Part-time AWD system demonstrates the optimum driving performance on mountain slopes and narrow roads, and the 4-channel ABS brings braking safety. In addition, CTIS (central tire inflation system) can be used on sand or soft ground for easy escape, and run flat tires enable the vehicle to drive 48km at 48km speed even after tire damage. When you want to drive, when you want to stop, nothing can stop you.
